A poem about Holly

This is my dog Holly Grace,

Just look at the scowl on her little face,

She’s not the dog to play or take to the park

She’s that snarly one who just likes to bark

Found on the streets a few months back

She’s that nice little pet who likes to attack

She snaps and she bites and causes great pain

Someone remind me, why we have her again?

Oh yes now I remember the reason she’s here

It’s something called ‘hope’ that we all cherish so dear

Hope that maybe someday she’ll cease to bite

Hope that maybe she’ll let me sleep through the night

I dream of the day when she’s snuggly and cuddly and nice

When I don’t have open wounds to soothe with aspirins and ice

But until that day comes I’ll just love her for what she is

A badass little dog with an attitude that kicks!

  2. I came back to read it again, just because it’s so cute!

  3. One day (or night) Holly will chomp a burglar’s leg and drag them back out to the street. Then reporters will come to interview you and her and Tiggy and everyone will say she’s a hero and she’ll probably get a medal for her collar!

She’ll be modest and say she was just protecting her loved ones. She wants everyone to know how grateful she is to have found a good safe home. And then she’ll show her sharp shiny teeth and bark really loud. After all, she has to maintain her ferocious reputation!

Love & loud purring from her admirers…The RainbowCats

  4. Does your sister know what Holly’s middle name is?

    • Yep! There’s a reason she was named after her :)

  5. Awwww! That is such a lovely poem about a sweet girl who is just adjusting to her new forever home!
